Biography
Eric started his profssional career in theatre when he joined the Westcountry Theatre Company in Torquay, Devon. He worked on Shakespeare tours for schools and also for an open-air summer tour across the South West of England.
He then founded his own youth theatre company, Frontal Theater, which is currently in its sixth year and attracting bigger audiences with every successful production. Eric moved to Vienna to begin work for the renowned International Theatre in autumn 2004. Here his roles have included George Gibbs in Our Town, Christopher Wren in the Mousetrap, Eric Birling in An Inspector Calls and numerous ensemble roles.
His love for Shakespeare drew him to the European Youth Theatre Festival. In their productions he played Demetrius in A Midsummer Night's Dream, Malvolio in Twelfth Night, Grumio in The Taming of the Shrew, Antonio in The Tempest and, most recently, Friar Laurence in Romeo & Juliet.
After receiving further training in musical theatre at Sunrise Studios Vienna, Eric embarked on a European tour of Cabaret. Since then, he has played in Italy, Germany and the Czech Republic. Back in Vienna, he has been engaged at the Theater der Jugend and several summer theatre festivals.
When Eric is not rehearsing or performing, he works as a freelance
translator, acting coach and English teacher. His speciality her lies
in devising courses for highly-abilited children, a job that is both
challenging and immensely rewarding. His activities in this field have so far
stretched to Lower Austria, Vienna and Styria.
